The new French edition of Pellegrino Rossi’s “Cour de droit constitutionnel” inspired this essay, which aims to reconsider some of the aspects of a complex character. Pellegrino Rossi has been a jurist, an economist, a politician; most of all, his work is devoted to developing a method for constitutional law (a newborn juridical subject), as well as the idea of the constitution as a “political work”
