Objective. To study the correlation between depressive symptoms and eating disorders restricting type (ED-R). Aims and methods. The sample consists of 55 SS. MA 12.5yr who fulfilled the DSM-IV disgnostic criteria for ED-R. Depression was investigate using CDI and CBCL-PRF. Pearson's correlation was used to study the degree to which the variables were related. Results. 26.8% of the subjects were above the CDI cutoff and 65.7% were within clinical range for internalizing problems (mean score 70.75). Conclusion. According to the literature the results show tha depressive sympthoms are present in about 30% of the DE-R sample. Our data suggest that depression, body uneasiness and eating restriction are correlated.
