This paper is the fruit of teaching experience gained during a workshop with postgraduates studying of a doctorate. Having the opportunity to exploit IT classroom facilities, I used the experience to reason about what is happening to 'specialised' languages after the advent of the Internet and the consequent impact on language pedagogy. I concentrated on the field of e-commerce since this is an area whose existence depends exclusively on the opportunities offered by IT.
