The presentation of P. Greenaway's film, The Belly of an Architect, has been carried out in investigating the perceptual process of "unveiling", that the film uses and develops through the empathetic involvement of the protagonist with historic buildings. The article shows that the issues which the film structure is dealed with touch relevant aspects on the question of the reading and interpretation of the architecture, its historical analysis, the transmissibility of the project, and even on the definition of the monument.
La presentazione del film di P. Greenaway, Il ventre dell'architetto, è stata effettuata indagando il processo percettivo di "svelamento", che il film usa e sviluppa attraverso il coinvolgimento empatico del protagonista con le architetture della storia. L'articolo mostra che i temi sollevati dalla struttura del film toccano aspetti rilevanti sulla questione della lettura e di interpretazione dell'architettura, sulla sua analisi storica, sulla trasmissibilità del progetto, e anche sulla definizione del monumento.
