La sociologie des possibles

The two studies that make up this volume point to the level of the “possible” as the main focus of sociological inquiry. They constitute the structure of a research protocol to be defined, modified and corrected. These are two variations of a research posture that deciphers the material web of social relations, the effective movement space of bodies, their forms of association, friction and resistance, in terms of "social possibilities". They represent a method for researching what are, and how, the systems of possibility that structure society; a way to find and isolate the machinery of government from the possible.
