The theme of memory can be the answer to the urgency of an existential nihilism that is depriving the new generations of historical and civil awareness, beyond spectacular "political" protagonisms on social media, sometimes the result of prejudice and misinformation. In the spread of ideology and the commodification of bodies and identities, memory is able to reinvigorate the wonder of difference, understood not as a conflictual stumbling block and a prerequisite for oppressionof the other,but rather as an ideal existential posture to approach otherness respectfully, precisely because it is in conscious dialogue with one's roots. This book is a hope to consider memory as a human category that heralds peace and civilization, when its use is not indiscriminate.
