The Authors present the case of an 10,6 yrs old girl suffering from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Panic Disorder, Social Phobia and depressive sympthoms. The patients received treatment with Sertraline 25mg7die for 1 keek and then increased to 50 mg/die, Delorazepam 5gtt x3/die. At following clincal controls the OC picture was slightly impoved, on the contrary, anxiety, phisical symtoms and depression had increased. Sertaline was discontinued. Anxious symtoms significantly decreased. The case support the ipothesis that, for soma patients, OC symptoms might be a defense from breakdown.
