The study investigates the clinical onset and the features of Early Onset Anorexia Nervosa (EO-AN). The sample consists of 19 SS, females, MA onset 11.9 yr. who met the diagnostic criteria of AN modified from Morgan and Russell. Data were obtained retrospectively from the patients' clinical notes. SS. affected with EO-AN showed the same clinical features of the classic adolescent onset AN. nevertheless, according to literature, we obsreved that few subjects fit the diagnostic criterion: "weight adn shape concerns". The exam of the past history showed two different groups of subjects: a) history of childhood eating difficulties and behavioural problems; b) history of pseudomaturity and False Self.
