To study maternal depression (lifetime and postnatal) in mothers of children with psychiatric disturbances with particular attention to PDD. Sample 72 mothers, two clinical groups PDD (25) not PDD (25) and a contro group no psichiatric problems (25). Results: statistically significant difference between PDD and not PDD and controls for lifetime maternal depression and between PDD and not PDD for postnatal depression. Conclusion post partum depression should be considered as a risk factor for PDD.
