Based on the data collection about the teaching activity regarding History of Architecture held in Italian Universities, the paper focuses on contribution offered by Assistant Professors and Adjunct Professors, also taking into account the changes imposed to the Assistant Professor role, taking place at the present, due to new legal regulations. The analysis shows that 21% and 19% of Lecturers of courses in History of Architecture are given by Assistant Professors and Adjunct Professors respectively moreover it sheds a lights on the distribution of them in the several Degrees containing the History of Architecture subject, also exposing Adjunct Professors’ background. The data review showed that the identified trend appears to be moved away from the original purpose which motivated the new legal regulations on Assistant Professors and Adjunct Professors roles.
