In recent years, various changes have interested Italian people, but no economic policy intervention has really matched these changes. So, Italian households have been rely only on informal helps. Within the European Countries, in Italy fertility rates and women labour participation rates are the lowest ones. Moreover, inequality of income distribution is very high while cash family benefits as percentage of Gross Domestic Product are very low. In this paper the fiscal policies introduced by Governments in these last years are analyzed together with budgetary allocations to social spending and family allowances. In particular we highlight that these interventions finalized to help families don’t have produced real relevant effects.
