At the end of the last century, the philosopher Norberto Bobbio described the contemporary age as ‘the Age of Rights’, thinking of a gradual expansion of individual rights and of an increasingly widespread respect for human rights. However, the social, economic and cultural changes of recent decades has produced a completely different global scenario, more and more complex and contradictory: the crisis of the modern state as we have known in the second half of the twentieth century gave rise to a society based exclusively on economic rationality. Rather than of an ‘Age of Rights’, we can speak of a ‘Society of Economics’.
La crisi del concetto di Stato apre uno spazio nel quale, in assenza di nuove categorie e concetti politici adeguati, il mercato è libero di produrre nuove regole che finiscono per configurare una 'società dell'economia'.

Abstract
At the end of the last century, the philosopher Norberto Bobbio described the contemporary age as ‘the Age of Rights’, thinking of a gradual expansion of individual rights and of an increasingly widespread respect for human rights. However, the social, economic and cultural changes of recent decades has produced a completely different global scenario, more and more complex and contradictory: the crisis of the modern state as we have known in the second half of the twentieth century gave rise to a society based exclusively on economic rationality. Rather than of an ‘Age of Rights’, we can speak of a ‘Society of Economics’.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
