The relationship between Croce and American Liberalism is one of the least tackled issues within the studies about the relations between the Italian philosopher and American culture. This essay presents a first exploration of the issue, by dealing with both the ‘factual question’ (that is, the actual relationships between Croce and the milieux of American Liberalism) and the ‘theorical question’ of the comparison between Croce’s and Dewey’s Liberalism, who, in the same years, were rethinking the Liberal tradition critically.

Abstract
The relationship between Croce and American Liberalism is one of the least tackled issues within the studies about the relations between the Italian philosopher and American culture. This essay presents a first exploration of the issue, by dealing with both the ‘factual question’ (that is, the actual relationships between Croce and the milieux of American Liberalism) and the ‘theorical question’ of the comparison between Croce’s and Dewey’s Liberalism, who, in the same years, were rethinking the Liberal tradition critically.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
