The patriarchal society has stabilized the social role of woman as a subject of care, therefore female violence, actions of terror or terrorism committed by the women immediately produce an unspeakable imaginary: those behaviours are more horrible exactly because are executed by a woman; they are often subjected to a rewriting in psychiatric symptoms or to an inferiorization of the female extreme action to pay attention to the need of a social redemption of that subjectivity, which is considered naturally unable to manage her political desire because of an atavistic sedimentation of social roles. Abstract

This paper aims to examine the discourses that have contributed to develop and to stabilize the concept of deviant woman, starting from the persecution of witches and the criminal anthropology theories elaborated especially by Lombroso to achieve the current sociological analysis of woman terrorist.
