This paper aims to analyze the narrative potential of toponymy through the use of deep maps by diachronic comparison of sources dealing with places, as well as literary, cartographic and documentary sources. The comparison is made possible through the use of a web-based data management, network analysis and visualization, applied to georeferenced geographical visualization, such as Nodegoat developed by Lab1100. The use of information visualization and, in particular, the visualizations applied to geospatial data allows a more effective understanding of complex systems. The management of data and their comparative visualization in a stratified space-time context has supported the analysis of toponymy sources for a better understanding of processes and for their use in the narration of historical places. The study aims to create a spatial narrative that highlights the effectiveness, both for the researcher and the user, of such a tool to analyze and understand the relationships and transformations of the city of Naples through the time.

Abstract
The study aims to create a spatial narrative that highlights the effectiveness, both for the researcher and the user, of such a tool to analyze and understand the relationships and transformations of the city of Naples through the time.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
