In 1900, Marianne Weber published an academic essay in which a comparison between Fichte’s juridical and political ideas and Marx’s criticism was discussed. Weber’s thesis was that Fichte had been a forerunner of the German Socialism, while Marx had been the heir of the ethical and anthropocentric ideas of the German idealism. Moving from Weber’s work, the paper expounds some of its arguments and puts in question some of its assumptions. Thus, the aim of this methodological sketch is twofold: on the one hand, the concept of Socialism can be problematized, and, on the other hand, the continuity-approach connecting together the German philosophical tradition and the history of political ideas receives new inputs.

Abstract
In 1900, Marianne Weber published an academic essay in which a comparison between Fichte’s juridical and political ideas and Marx’s criticism was discussed. Weber’s thesis was that Fichte had been a forerunner of the German Socialism, while Marx had been the heir of the ethical and anthropocentric ideas of the German idealism. Moving from Weber’s work, the paper expounds some of its arguments and puts in question some of its assumptions. Thus, the aim of this methodological sketch is twofold: on the one hand, the concept of Socialism can be problematized, and, on the other hand, the continuity-approach connecting together the German philosophical tradition and the history of political ideas receives new inputs.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
