Abstract
After a century from Max Weber’s death, in 2020, the anniversary was celebrated by many academic activities and scientific publications. By giving an account of some of these contributions, the paper discusses some of the most problematic points of Weber’s thought, from the perspective of both 1) illustrating the latest progresses of the Weber-Forschung and 2) challenging some of Weber’s categories by the comparison with tendencies and phenomena of our age. In particular, moving from some interpreters who discussed Weber’s idea of clearness (Klarheit) in scientific research, the paper tries to point out the network of implications and cross-references connecting, in a problematic way, science and faith, reason and unreason, life and value, the light of knowledge and the resistance of the “divine haze”. What ensues is the problematic outline of a thinker who, in the name of the love for the truth, intuited in an audacious way the dark side of science.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
