In this study, the argumentative strategies and linguistic elements that participate in the discursive construction of argumentative texts are analyzed in a corpus of 147 opinion columns from 11 newspapers, among the most widely distributed in Spain. This type of journalistic text – thanks to its specific peculiarities – turns out to be very useful for studying these aspects through the methodology of Discourse Analysis with a linguistic-pragmatic approach. In addition, the results of the didactic experience carried out with students of Spanish as a foreign language are shown. They confirm that the opinion column can become a multifaceted didactic resource in the Spanish classroom.
