The aim of this study is to analyse the terms related to adoption in Spain and to observe the process of rewriting thattook place in the field of family law: from the years of the Franco dictatorship to the Adoption Act of 1987. Thanksto legal terminology analysis it is possible to highlight some social and ideological characteristics that changedthroughout the years and to observe how family law is retranslated in accordance with the social context and thehistorical background.
